Lead Capture FormI am working with a new agent here in Seattle, Joe Kiser.  His branding is the Real Estate Connector, and he owns many domain names that contain that branding.,,, etc.

He recently became a Premier Zillow agent and with it gets a free WordPress Website with IDX integration.  He wants to use it, but knows he may not always be a premier Zillow Agent, and wanted to buy a new domain that could tie into the current branding idea.

His idea: 

Initially I thought it was a great idea.  Then I remembered seeing data that showed a much higher conversion percentage on titles that were written in the clients first person tense.

Better idea:

What The Data Says

Number of Fields:

  • After 3 fields the conversion percentage starts to drop
  • The more fields you have the higher quality the lead conversion
  • Conclusion:  Start with 3 fields and add more if you are getting low quality sign ups.

Most Important Fields:

  1. Email
  2. Name
  3. Phone (Business)
  4. Lead Source
  5. Want Sales Contact
  6. Phone (Mobile)
  7. Timeframe
  8. Key Pain Point
  9. Website
  10. Budget

Conclusion:  Start with Email, Name, Phone Number

Build Trust By Including:

  • Your Phone and Address
  • Testimonials and Edorsments
  • Give Freebies and Include a Privacy Policy

Increase conversions by writing in the readers first person tense (“My Free Trial” rather than “Your Free Trial”)
