Building the Next Chapter From Seattle to Tucson
I spent decades getting really good at real estate, business, marketing and technology. Then I started asking whether I wanted the next 20 years to look like the last 20.
Seattle is still part of the story. So is real estate. So is the work that got me here. What is changing is my relationship to time, ownership, identity and what I want to build next.
THE QUESTION BEHIND THE SITE
I wasn’t trying to start over.
I had built a lot that still mattered: The Madrona Group, relationships in Seattle, experience in real estate, a business brain shaped by sales, and work in technology and marketing that I genuinely enjoy. I was not leaving failure behind. I was asking a harder question.
That question is where this site starts. Not with a dramatic exit, but with a decision to be more deliberate about what deserves to come with me.
SEATTLE + TUCSON
Seattle is still part of the story.
Seattle is where I built most of my career, many of my closest relationships and a deep connection to real estate. The Madrona Group, the Pacific Northwest, Lake Tyee and the people who have been part of the work for decades all remain important.
Moving toward Tucson is not a rejection of Seattle. It is an expansion of the life I already had—and an opportunity to build a practical bridge between two places that matter.

Tucson gave me enough distance to ask a different question.
A different landscape and pace created more room to think about the next chapter: what I want to work on, what I want to own, where my income comes from and how much of my time work should consume.
It also gave me more time outside, a new market to learn and enough separation from old routines to see which parts of my work were worth keeping—and which parts were mostly habit.
REINVENT
I was also learning something important about myself.
Later in life, I learned that I am autistic. It did not suddenly redefine everything. It gave me a framework for understanding patterns in work, energy, routine, focus, relationships, how I build systems and how I respond to change.

I’m starting this part at $0.
JasonFox.me began this chapter with $0 in affiliate and content revenue. I am documenting the real work: traffic, newsletter growth, affiliate and referral revenue, digital products, content experiments, what works, what fails and what was actually worth the time.
The point is not to build a make-money-online site. The question is whether decades of real-world experience can become useful digital assets, recurring income and a body of work that does not require me to be in every transaction.
A CONCRETE PROJECT
Some of what I’ve learned is already becoming something concrete.
One project I am building is The 14 Systems: a practical framework for how I would build a real estate business again from the ground up. It is taking shape here before it becomes something I share more broadly.
